Yext Powerlistings – FAQ

yext certified partner image

Yext Powerlistings help you control how your business is listed across 30+ directories.

But just because that’s said – what is a Powerlisting, what can it do you for you and what happens if you sign up for the service.

Can I still access my own listings that I already have if I use Yext?

Yes.

Signing up for a Yext subscription essentially puts a “lock” on your data so that any conflicting source of your business name, address or phone number doesn’t get worked into your listing. But it doesn’t change YOUR relationship with your Google+ map listing or your Yelp listing, or Bing, or Merchant Circle etc.

Does a Yext Powerlisting create duplicate listings?

No.

The information that flows from your Yext Powerlisting will blend in with your existing listing on that directory. Yext understands that duplicate listings for the same business are not beneficial and therefore does not add a 2nd listing for you.

What’s the difference in going with Yext directly versus a Certified Yext Partner?

Yext’s partner program means that a partner can offer you a little more than going directly with Yext.

A Yext partner can offer a monthly subscription option. It will always be a better value to go with an annual subscription but if a monthly option helps a local business, you can get that from a partner.

If for instance you have a duplicate listing issue – a Yext partner can offer you an upgrade that you can’t get by goin directly – duplicate suppression. This means that if you do have duplicates – you can have a little more juice to your YExt subscription that will suppress every duplicate listing while also keeping a “lock” on the data.

What’s the difference between a Powerlisting and a Powerlisting with Duplicate Suppression?

The price difference on our program is $20 more per month to incorporate duplicate suppression. We often recommend that a new subscriber start with a monthly subscription with suppression to see if there is a huge problem or not – if not then they have the option to sign up for the standard powerlisting for an annual account and save over the monthly fee.

What do I have to do once I’ve signed up?

Essentially, its pretty much like Greyhound – Sit back, relax and leave the driving to us. Working with a Yext partner means that they will handle all the emails and nitty gritty on making sure that the system has your listings up to date.

There is a viewing portal as well as some other options that we’ll cover in the future.

What happens if I cancel my Yext subscription?

It kind of like what happens when you stop paying for anything. The benefit stops.

The protection on your business information goes away and if there is any “poisoned” well of data that existed – then that wrong information can come back to your listings.
